Vic 17 Posted April 12, 2012 A demo of a new Star Trek video game to be released by Namco in 2013 was seen at the recent Global Gamers Day in Las Vegas. Written by Marianne Krawczyk (God of War) in collaboration with Star Trek XI‘s Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, The Star Trek video game is “based on a stand-alone storyline that continues the adventure of iconic characters Kirk and Spock as they work together to stop a legendary enemy race bent on conquering the galaxy.” Namco showed a “short demo of the co-op third person shooter which will have a unique storyline that bridges the gap between Star Trek 2009 and next year’s hotly anticipated sequel.” According to reports, “each character has specific weapons that level up through the game and the Tricorder is a big in-game element.” The Spock character was seen using a “Combat Mind Meld,” allowing Spock to “control an enemy to fight for him.” The new Star Trek game will be released in the first quarter of 2013.
